Items Hired remain the property of Marlowe Costume Hire/Jan Critchett's Party Shop
Charges. quoted are for one day or weekend. Longer periods by arrangement.
Hire Fees. are due at the time of booking and are non-returnable.

Reservations. Specific costumes may be reserved in advance upon payment of the hire charge.
In the event of the reserved costume being unavailable due to reasons beyond our control, we shall either try to provide an acceptable alternative or to refund the payment in full, at the election of the customer.

Failure to Return. the costume on time will render the customer liable to additional charges and/or loss of deposit.

A Deposit. is required for each hiring and is refundable upon the return of the items hired, on time and in satisfactory condition.We may , at our discretion, call for a larger than normal deposit without being obliged to state a reason.

Value.the amount of the deposit does not represent the full value of the items hired. We reserve the right to take any necessary legal action to recover any non-returned costumes or to charge the customer for any items lost or damaged, together with any reasonable costs.

Care. Customers are expected to take all reasonable care of goods hired to them and are specifically requested to adoid the use of festive sprays or similar preparations. Certain costumes are only suitable for indoor use. Customer's attention will be drawn to this, if applicable, and a note made to this effect on the invoice.

Alterations. will be regarded as damage unless specifically authorised by the proprietors, in writing.

Cleaning. All of our costumes are laundered or dry cleaned after every hiring. Customers are
NOT expected to undertake this.

Accessories. These conditions apply equally to the hire of accessories.

Whenever possible costumes will be put out in good quality zipped bags and on our standard red, white or black hangers. A not to this effect will be made upon the counterfoil invoice. We have found that our customers appreciate this extra care and generally ensure that items are returned similarly packaged. On the rare occasions when the bag or hangers have not been returned with the costumes, we have been obliged to deduct from the deposit the sum of £10 per bag and £1 per hanger. We would prefer the return of our property to making this charge. That part of the deposit retained by us will be repaid upon the return of the bags and hangers.
